How can I change the default document for my server (directory)?

Default Document

It is a page file that your visitors see first when opening your website.

The list of default filenames: default.htm, default.html, default.asp, index.htm, index.html, index.asp.

Web server shows first document from the list but if it is not found it shows the second and so on.

Add Default Document on Windows 2003

To add or change the default document go to HostPilotfirstuse and navigate to Web/FTP Server > Web Server > Settings and Permissions > Web Server Settings. Once there, select a directory and specify the name of your default document as the first document in the list.

 

Add Default Document on Linux

To add or change the default document go to HostPilot and navigate to  Web/FTP Server > Apache Server > Server Settings > Directory Index. Once there, specify the name of your default document as the first document in the list.
