If you do not use FrontPage 2002, you can add users to your web site in "HostPilot Control Panel > Web/FTP Server > Web Server > Site Users" for your Windows account. You will need to type in a username, select a home directory for Site User, check or uncheck FTP Read, check or uncheck FTP Write, then press the "Create User" button. You will be prompted to enter a password for this user. The user will be created and enabled when you enter the password and press "OK".
After the user is created, you may want to refine their permissions in "HostPilot Control Panel > Web/FTP Server > Web Server > Permissions".
What is FTP Read?
FTP Read allows users to connect to your virtual server via FTP, and review files. The user cannot make any changes, but can review all files within his directory.
What is FTP Write?
FTP Write allows users to change the content on your virtual server from within FTP. They can upload new files, change existing ones, and delete or overwrite old ones.
More information is available in HostPilot Control Panel - please follow Help link in Site Users.
These instructions are for non-FrontPage users only.
